Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In Begusarai, Bihar, a sub-inspector lost his life, and a Home Guard jawan sustained injuries during an attack by liquor smugglers on a police team late on Tuesday. The incident occurred when the Naokothi Police Station in Begusarai received information about a liquor transportation attempt.
In response, a night patrol vehicle was dispatched, led by Inspector Khamas Chaudhary, positioned near the Chhatauna Budhi Gandak river bridge along with three Home Guard jawans. Upon attempting to intercept a suspicious car, the driver accelerated, striking Inspector Chaudhary, resulting in his death.
One Home Guard jawan was injured and hospitalized, and the vehicle owner has been arrested. The incident has raised concerns about the prevailing law and order situation in Bihar.
Balasaheb Yadav, Home Guard jawan who was injured said, "A car came from behind and hit me...We were stationed at the Chhatauna Budhi Gandak river bridge. The incident happened at around midnight. A total of four people were on duty. Only I was injured, while the officer Khamas Chaudhary died."
